Bio: A classically trained clarinettist, I had an amazing career, performing orchestral and chamber music. I took up TV and Radio writing and production, had a radio show in California and at 50, decided to try something - new! My experiences have all informed my approach as a nurse. I have two national Board Certifications: one in Geriatric Nursing and one in Case Management; and I am honored to serve and care for those in need physically, psychologically, and spiritually.
Hometown: Kansas City, Mo
I like working at the Academy because… The faculty are all kind, caring and compassionate. The students are kind, polite, respectful and…I love them!
Nursing Philosophy: What is most important to you as a nurse? Providing the appropriate interventions based on the whole person.
Fun Facts about me: I went to St. Therese Little Flower School and Church in Kansas City when I was young, I love animals, I am not afraid to try something new - it has kept my life very interesting and fulfilling.
When I’m not at DMA, you will find me… Practicing my clarinet, spoiling my kitties, doing leatherwork, painting and thrifting for gems to resell!
Ask me about… Evidence-based facts and healthcare and my wanderlust spirit.
My Personal Motto… I may not know what I want to do, but I know what I don’t want to do.
