*** Educating Mind, Body, and Spirit ***
Objective
If you first learned how to draw an ice cream cone with a triangle and stacked circles on top — that’s certainly not a bad way to start. But now we are ready to draw something a little more complex … AND maybe a little more yummy looking. So instead of the usual waffle cone and hard scoops on top, we are going to draw a standing cone with a soft swirl and curly tip. You can be creative and choose your flavors or be boring like me and go for chocolate and vanilla.

Families might be stuck inside their homes due to COVID-19 concerns, but you can still share some love and support your community during this challenging time.
Around the world, children are leaving rainbow art on their windows as a message of hope.
Some of these colorful displays include encouraging words like “Let’s all be well” or “It will be okay.” You can create your own rainbow masterpiece by using any kind of art materials (window markers, construction paper, etc.). Let your kids show off their creativity! You can also recreate their artwork on the driveway to show support.
Be creative and have fun!
Here are a some cute examples from Instagram.

Rhythm/Movement
Repeating similar elements to direct the eye though the image. Leading the eye to the focal area by organizing shapes or colors.
Proportion/Scale
Refers to the size of an object in relationship to another object.
Balance
The distribution of the visual weight of objects, colors, texture, and space. Balance is often referred to as symmetrical, asymmetrical, or radial. If a work has visual balance, the viewer feels that the elements have been arranged in a satisfying way.
Unity/Harmony
An important principle of design that gives the artwork a sense of cohesion or coherence. It is the wholeness or completeness of a picture. Unity and harmony in art are used by artists to tie a composition together and help the composition make sense as a whole piece of art.
Emphasis
Is defined as an area or object within the artwork that draws attention and becomes a focal point.
Variety
A principle of design concerned with diversity or contrast. Variety is achieved by using different shapes, sizes, and/or colors in a work art to hold the viewer’s attention and to guide the viewer’s eye through the work of art.
Contrast
A principle of art that refers to the arrangement of opposite elements (light vs. dark colors, rough vs. smooth textures, large vs. small shapes, etc.) in a piece so as to create visual interest, excitement and drama.
A monochromatic color scheme is different shades of a single color. Think about the ocean, and all of the varying colors of blue. Colors ranging from a deep navy blue to a perfect delicate hue of turquoise.
